Hi, I’m Linda! I’m a visual artist and storyteller from Helsinki, Finland.

Anxiety Switch

An interactive illustration about the hair trigger nature of my neurodivergent brain as it pings emotions around. Random word said by someone nearby? Train pulling up? Sound from outside? Some other entirely innocent and unrelated thing? Boom, there’s the melancholy again.

Soft Data

A piece of net art which switches between panels to form a full figure, à la “mix and match” flip books from childhood. This one is a self portrait of all the different fragmented identities people have known me by in my 20+ years online.

Tammy’s Thrift Treasures

Media: HTML, CSS, digital illustration

A mockup Y2K-style website with tongue-in-cheek references to generative AI scams/other terrible things that we’ve experienced recently (robot puppies, crystal mugs, deepfakes, ChatGPT writing, AI companions, generative images, & more). I wanted to reminisce about how authentic and organic the internet used to be when I was a teenager, and wish for this internet’s return, no matter how hopeless it might seem.

Autistic Masking

Media: Arduino, acrylic paint, wood, board, permanent marker, plastic sheet, wire

My first foray into using an Arduino. A 2,5 dimensional piece about the different faces I (and very likely many other autistic people) rotate through in an effort to mask and fit in with neurotypical society.

Acting My Age

Media: Arduino, digital animation

Another self-portrait incorporating an Arduino. The animation plays when a motion sensor activates – or, conceptually, “she acts/looks her age only when someone sees her”. I’ve never felt like “an adult”, no matter old I technically get. I’ve never been fully able to describe this feeling in words, but this artwork starts to get at the feeling I’m trying to describe.
