Hi, I’m Linda! I’m a visual artist and storyteller from Helsinki, Finland.

Artist Statement

A member of the jury which evaluated my undergraduate thesis work gave me this advice: “never stop telling stories”. I’ve taken that advice to heart and am always looking for new ways to build narratives in my art. I’ve made work for a variety of fields, including comics, animation, new media, and video games.

I make art about facets of my own psyche [mental health, neurodiversity, intersecting threads of my identity] as well as the broader human experience [human rights/social justice, environmental issues, current events]. I also love fiction, and my explorations of fantasy, sci-fi, myth, and folklore often include a layer of social commentary. I may tell a story about witches in a fantasy setting, but those witches will be trying to dismantle a fascist government. I may illustrate notable women from mythology, but their stories will be viewed and interpreted through a feminist lens.

My media is often digital, but I also enjoy markers, acrylic paints, printmaking, and mixed media. I’ve studied fine art, animation, illustration, graphic design, and new media, through which I’ve collected this bundle of techniques. I’ve made illustrations and animations professionally for international clients, both on a freelance basis and through working at creative agencies. I have a BA degree in animation and an MA degree in new media. I’ve exhibited in group shows in three countries, had solo shows here in Finland, and attended an international artist residency.
